I have worked hard for the past ten months being both a Marketing Manager for a company I admire, and an artist. I am always an artist, but I was also an employee; and worked to live up to my end of that bargain by separating my personal work and time from my employer’s, putting full focus into my job, and blending my devotion to art in all of the work that I do. I believe that if the work we do is not done artistically – then it is not quality work. And although my tenure with the company has ended, I feel confident that I gave them my full attention, was accessible throughout the day and evening (and off the clock), and did not shortchange them or fall short of expectation. If I was not meeting requirements, I was never informed of that at any time.
I will miss my co-workers and the work that I did, but I will continue to find comfort in my individuality, my interests and my work, and hope that my future will serve both my own needs and the needs of others, and all is kept in harmony.
